My wife and I affectionately refer to this little foodie gem in Trastevere as “the sandwich shop.” But alas, it is so much more.

Located in an unassuming, but modern little corner space in Piazza Trilussa, Eat Street Food, is an homage to the concept of street food, combined with the elegance and simplicity of Italian cuisine. Burgers, crepes, vegetarian delights, calzones, wonderful cheeses and fantastic artisanal beers make this simple little “sandwich shop” one of our favorite destinations for lunch or a quick bite in the evening with the kids.

No matter what you’re in the mood for, the servings are ample and generous, yet the prices are staggeringly low.

Trastevere can be a bit of a tourist trap, food wise, so this little Italian gem is a must if you’re in the area and just want a casual bite with a friendly, caring and sincere staff.
